Formatting?

I want to use a UHS micro SD card but it will require reformatting it. Will reformatting it get rid of the high speeds?

Why do you think it will require formatting?

I am wanting to use it in a Sony PSP using an adapter and when you put one in it makes you format it before you can use it.
