Formatting a new SSD to NTFS

I want to format my new SSD to NTFS because many of the files to be put on it will be small.

  1. If I copy off the SanDisk suppilied files, reformat to NTFS and copy them back, can Secure Access still be used?

  2. Will this have an adverse effect on the life of the drive.  The amount of writing will be relatively low.
