All I want to do is update firmware on my external drive but it keeps giving me the error as in the title.
I’m using an older WD Elements SE drive. I think that’s what it is. It is the boxy design, 1TB with 3.0 USB interface. The p/n is WDBPCK0010BBK-01. Of course, since it’s legacy and can’t get any support for it and the support page itself is useless.
The reason I want to check for firmware updates is because I’ve been using this drive for PS4 but every time the PS4 enters rest mode the drive goes to sleep. I had read somewhere there is a tool called WDIdleDisable. I found it on a website but it says that it can’t update the drive. Can someone please help?
