Fast Foward and Hold issues w/Clip Sport

Sansa Clip Sport 8g Firmware 1.29 issues

I found 2 issues with very long mp3’s or podcast/audiobooks in mp3 format.

The first one: seeking is very slow, like 1 second per minute.  If the mp3 is 2 hours long, getting back to the part

I want to get to could take a minute or 2.  With the clip+ after several seconds of fast forwarding, it would start skipping 10 minutes at a time instead of 1 minute at a time while holding the skip right button.

The second issue: sometimes when I start playing a large mp3 and fast forward through half of it (or more), and let up on the ffwd it will act like its playing and even count seconds, but nothing is coming out of my headphones.  Even a pause/unpause doesn’t fix it.  The only way to get it to play again is to turn off the player and turn it back on.

Two issues with the Hold function.

Upon disabling the Hold function, one has to wait a few seconds for the hold screen to disapear before being able to press other buttons on the player.  For example: you are playing some music with hold on, but need to pause it really fast to talk to someone or answer the phone.

Secondly, sometimes I’ll hold down the back button to enable the Hold function, and it doesn’t actually enable the Hold function.  Hopefully this can be improved to be able to act on other buttons right after disabling the Hold function, or something like that.

I really miss this functionality of the Clip+, I had 2 of them which lasted from 2009 - June 2016. RIP.

Thank you

Yes, the fast foward is a bit annoying.

Sansa Sport is clearly, a downgrade.

It is essencial that Sansa Sport be compatible with Rockbox, with all functions available.

Please “Rockboxers”, work on it.

I’m very disapointed with this player

Depends on your point of view. Compared to past players that SanDisk has put out, yes. Compared to other brands on mp3 player on the market? Not so much.

May be “essential” to you, but from what I hear there is no interest from the rockbox developers in even trying to port this player.

No one is forcing you to keep it. If it doesn’t fit your needs or wants, retun it and get something else.

Here i just talk my experience.

Now i cant return the player. I made a little modification in the back, for a specific aplication (to put it on a 3M earmuffs with headphones speakers inside, so its impossible return it :frowning:

I have the Clip Zip, and i will work with it. Hope he last very long time…
