Extreme pro SSD troubleshoot help

I want to use my SanDisk extreme pro SSD with my iPad pro 10.5 (2017). However, it doesn’t work well at all for me. I am using the Apple adapter to connect it with power but my iPad only gives me an error message " Cannot us accessory :Extreme 55AE : This accessory requires too much power.

But if I switch it to a usb flash drive, it works

Not sure what I did wrong. I have also tried using it with my iphone 12 and the same happened.

Yea! Same problem when trying to use the adapter with iphone 14. No solution from help center other than 1.1amp power required which is what I’ve used using a wall charger. Still no-go. I’d be interested in hearing if you got your to work.

Your SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD needs more power than your iPhone or iPad can provide, which is likely causing the error. You can try using a powered USB hub to supply extra power or switch to a higher wattage charger (12W or more). Also, check if you’re using a good quality cable, as some don’t transfer power properly. If your SSD is formatted as NTFS, changing it to exFAT might help since iPhones and iPads work better with that format.
