How about this Basic Information addendum:
Windows XP / SP2 or Vista recommended for USB2.0 support and charging.
Windows Media Player 10 or 11 recommended for MTP support with DRM media.

The short answer? No. And you’re in the e200 series board. There is a separate e200 (R) Rhapsody board (just under this one). 
Hello, I have a e200, got it new last year at this time, and its almost loaded, it was playing, 1/2 battery and it froze. I was able to turn it off and when I tried to charge it the computer will not see it and the screen on the unit states sandisk in black background white lettering and it stays like that for ever. I go to power it down by holding the power button for about 20 seconds and it states goodbye in a cloudy/foggy screen. I go to re connect it to the computer and it goes to a million squiggly lines going down the screen and nothing else. I took out the battery and but it back in but it still does the same thing. How can I fix this.

You really should start your own thread on this instead of adding the umpteenth reply to a non-related thread.
First, try opening the back (four screws), taking out the battery, waiting half a minute and putting it back in. It might reset.
Failing that, take a look at this thread. You don’t have to read through the whole thing–just try some of the solutions near the beginning.

A. Do the e200 v1 series support video out of any type? I have seen different 3rd party a/v cables that claim they allow video out of the e200 series - I ordered one but it does not work.

PS: Without video out, its just an expensive MP3 player - really, who can watch videos or view pictures on that tiny screen? If video out on the above model A/V MP3 player isn’t possible then I am highly disappointed that Sansa would ever even release a product that has so many limitations (a/v out, MicroSD limitatation of 2Gb, not compatible with MicroSDHC, can’t upgrade the firmware to v2.x or higher, etc).

Sorry you’re so heart-broken, but you ARE talking about a product that came out 3 years ago! Much has changed since, and at that time these issues were not considered limitations. If you’re seriously looking for ‘video out’ capabilities on what is essentially a modest-priced ‘music’ player, good luck! I hope you find what you are looking for. But I’ll guarantee you, you won’t find in in the sub-$100 price range!

SanDisk did various things poorly with the E200, but I can’t really sympathize with your particular gripes. No one ever advertised the E200 as having video out. The tiniest bit of research would have told you that before buying.
It’s actually an in expensive mp3 player. Compare it to the more expensive Apple Nano, which does have video out, but only with an additional $50 cable. (For the price difference + cable you could get another whole Sansa unit.) If you wanted a real multimedia player, I beileve the Sansa View will do video out through a docking connection, or you could get an actual A/V player with a video-out connection from IRiver, Cowon, Insignia, Archos…
The only videos that the E200 plays are optimized for the tiny screen You wouldn’t want to see them on anything larger unless you love grain and eyestrain. If you are dead set on viewing them you could always connect to your computer in MSC mode and play them in your computer’s media player. Of course you could do the same thing with your basic USB thumb drive, and put better quality videos on it.
MicroSDHC wasn’t a significant presence when the first E200, the v1, was released. The v1 was soon replaced by the v2, which is compatible with MicroSDHC. Meanwhile the v1 will play MicroSDHC with Rockbox. Why SanDisk didn’t upgrade the official v1 firmware is indeed a mystery.
Both are now discontinued products, replaced by the Fuze. Probably there is no 2.0 firmware, though there were various upgrades of the 1.x firmware, because each piece of Sansa hardware has a different number for its firmware: 1.x for the v1, 3.x for the v2, 01 and 02 for the Fuze, etc.
If it makes you feel better you could download the firmware file and rename the .zip file to version 2.x before you unzipped it.
