Hi Community.
I wanted to say first off that I love my passport HD. I love how its small and compact, can fit in my pocket, I use it for college and gaming and pretty much everything. I purchased a 1TB Passport Ultra about a year ago, maybe a year and a half. As for the Drive itself, it works perfectly. The only issue I have had, pretty much since I purchased it, is it seems to have a conflict with my motherboards drivers for the USB buss… Or something to do in that arena. Now, I have got it to work, but using a 2.0 port 
and Id really like to get the full speed out of it being I use it a lot. So Im wondering if I make a log here and simply describe my issues and my thoughts and the attempts to discover the cause… but also my struggles and ignorance, perhaps someone more experienced has a tip and maybe you dont mind sharing. 
So Ill start with the build.
asus maximus viii ranger 1151 z170
intel i5 6600k 3.5-4.0 stock (atm)
16 GB corsair dominator platinum 3000mhz 2x8GB ddr4 (atm using only 8GB)
850 watt 80plus evga ps
gtx 960 ftw 4GB
decent cooler master air cooler avg 30*c idle
pny ssd 250GB
Im using win 7 ultimate 64 bit O/S
I have had conflicts in every 3.0 port I use. the ports work fine, they recognize my other devices, mouse, gig stick, keyboard and gaming controller… i have the right drives installed from my mobo manufacturer. Ive DL and installed the security and utilities tool from WD for my device but I dont see the driver or remember where it is… https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=232&lang=en
this is the drive i have, the blue, 1tb drive. but i cant get it to work. Im frustrated. Ive had conflicts where attempting to uninstall drivers left my os hanging and having to reinstall… simply cause windows ■■■■■ and no drivers for mouse or keyboard means no login or repairing. Im not doing this one more time. If i cant get a solution I will sell the drive and find a different solution. I read so much on issues with usb connectivity. idk why this is but can someone help me? Id really appreciate it.
the main reason I use this drive is for my music files, i produce dance music and need my files back. i cant work on ANY projects till I get this fixed…
