When I plugged in My Passport today I got a message that I need to reformat this drive.
If I reformat I lose all content. I shut down, unplugged then rebooted three time to make sure this was not a fluke. Can I save or retrieve the content in any way? Thanks

It is possible the partition is corrupted and that’s why it is asking you to format the drive. Since you have data that you want to recover I recommend you use a data recovery software.

I don’t know what happened but I closed the computer down for 24 hours
and when I logged back in, everything was back to normal. Problem self
resolved.
