I thought I was doing backups on my new external hard drive, but when I look at drive E which is where the drive is, I only see the programs that were downloaded, I don’t see any files. Is there something that I must do first to get the backups working? I need help, please
I have the same issue. Backup supposedly starts and runs. WD Backup even mentions my last backup (scheduled for overnight) was 630 Gb, but I can’t find the backup file on My Passport, nor can I access the backup if I try to restore. If I start a backup, WD Backup sits there and just reports “Preparing backup…”. Only once in the last hour did I hear the drive do anything that resembles much activity. The drive does appear in File Explorer and I am able to save a file to the drive.
FWIW, running Windows 10 and have uninstalled software and downloaded latest WD Backup for Windows from WD website, restarted, etc. etc.
