Does the external drive conflict with system drivers or installed software?

My external hard drive crashes Windows when connected, and I suspect it might be conflicting with system drivers or installed software. Has anyone experienced this before? How can I check for or resolve such conflicts? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :blush:
