Very painful. Just got a 3TB drive to back up both my PC and Mac (on a recommendation from B&H). Started with the PC, thinking it will be the easiest but unable to get the PC to recognize the external drive. I did a firmware update from the web. The device shows installed on my PC but when connected it does not show up under My Computer. Have powered off and on, rebooted PC, etc. but still nothing. Need help. Thanks.

The My Book Studio comes formated HFS for Mac use, Windows is not able to read this file format. If you want to use the drive on Windows and Mac you will need to format it to a file system called FAT32.
