Damaged SD card

I had a card in my tablet for almost 1 year.

Today suddenly the tablet says it is damaged.

I tried putting it into a card reader. It does not show up, but my computer can somewhat detect it.

I am considering try to reformat it.

Before doing so I would like to know if this is a common problem and if there is any workaround.

I wouldn’t call it “common” but like anything it happens. Contact Sandisk directly for a warranty replacement.

I contacted Sandisk. They suggested to re-format the card. I formatted it and now it is working. I hope it will continue working.

Of course it is rather annoying that such things happen.

Luckily I had a complete backup.
