Cruzer Extreme - slider not firmly enough to put into USB port properly

Cruzer Extreme - slider not firmly enough to put into USB port properly.

Anybody else with problems as described below.

Cruzer Extreme 64GB, nearly 1.5 year in use.

The slider mechanis does not show enough resistance when plugging it into USB port.

So besically it is seldom possible to plug it in properly.

In order the plug in operation succeed one has to strongly push

slider handle against the drive case. I afraid if to do this durable one time

a worser mechanical damage will take place.

Just to be clear, has this always been a problem or is it just now appearing?

The reason I ask is some people push on the slider when plugging the drive in and that is not necessary.  Once the plug is out holding the outside of the case is all that is needed to plug it in.

If this is a problem just now appearing then I suggest returning it to Sandisk for a replacement.  Be sure to backup all your Cruzer files to your hard drive before sending it back.

Thanks for your input.

This is in my understanding as well.

These problems were not observed with sleek new device.

Well I will contact SanDisk.

How good is the chance SanDisk will recognize the complain?

If it’s under warrantee I would say pretty good.  And at 1 1/2 yrs old I would say it’s still under warrantee.

For sure a mechanical issue. Not else that you can do here but to request for an RMA. Hopefully you’ll get a replacement instead of it just being fixed.
