Crucial error

Hello,

I have a external hard drive that is crashed, i got a crucial ( something ) error. Windows doesn’t sees the drive anymore but when i look in system, i can see the drive.

The drive is a WD5000BPVT

I want to format the drive bu i don’t know how, i also tried the low level format of WD but that doesn’t worked and i also tried it with Linux.

The data is alreay recovered with getdatback so it can be format straight away, is there somebody who has an idea how to ?

( sorry, my english is’t that great

thanks for your anwser but that was the first we tried, without succes. I can’t click the option new simple volume. The only thing i can click on is: properties and help

The error i ment was : cyclic redundancy check ( if i translated it correct.)

See if this helps fix the cyclic redundancy problem http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Cyclic-Redundancy-Check-Error Have you tried runnning check disk in Windows? If they don’t work try downloading Digital Life Guard from WD and try running that.
