Continuous Backup seems not to work

I have new My Passport with version 2.2.0 software on a Windows 8 PC which backed up fine, and is set up for continuous backup.

I have just returned from a week away and added about 200 photos in a new folder in “Pictures”. I expected the backup would see new files, and back them up, but this is not happening. I know this as Pictures on my PC 21.3GB but on the Passport only 18.5GB as it was previously. The new files are not on “retrieve”

I have read various threads and can’t find an answer to a this, but am sure I’ve set everything up OK

Any Ideas? or have I wasted my money on a device that does not do what it says on the tin.

Help Please

Did you open the program to check if it’s actually working? And try stopping the backup, uncheck any category gox, apply, start it. That tends to do the trick.

And FYI you can use the drive with file history on Windows 8, which is much better than smartware.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, I have tried reset and the led is flashing as it should but there is still no files moving.

However using Windows file history as you suggest works just fine. Maybe I should dump the WD software and just use it as an External Drive for Windows F H

That’s how I use it.

Uninstalled all WD software, formatted drive, and used Windows File History.

“Problem Solved”

Thanks again.
