I’ve bought this device (WD av-tv) thinking that it would be easier to read transfered files from cam to WD external disk. But the files are recorded as MTS files that are not supported by tv (can read on pc but it would be convenient too to be able to share immediatly through direct plug to tv). Any solution. Is something required to plug on tv? What does mean av-tv then? Thanks.
Your only option is to transcode the files to a format your TV supports using HandBrake or something similar.
The AV-TV drive includes hardware DRM components allowing certain TVs to record content to the drive and play them back later. Sort of like adding DVR capability directly to your TV.
