can't get pictures off Extreme IV 4 GB card

Hi there,

I am having trouble getting pictures off an Extreme IV 4 GB card.  When I scroll through the card on the camera, I can see all of the pictures I took.  When I try to import them in Lightroom, it says there are no pictures on the card.  When I go to “my computer” and click on the card, it tells me the card is not formatted and asks if I would like to format it.

We have used this card in the past with no problems.  If I format the card, will I lose the images that are currently on it?  There are some extremely important pictures on there, so I am getting a but concerned.

Yes indeedy.

What if you simply drag & drop (or copy) them to a folder on your computer. Then you can open them up in whatever image-editing software you like.

Once this is successfully accomplished you can delete the duplicate images from the card, even format it if you want.
