Can't complete Backup...please help!

I just got my new WD My Passport SE 1TB and did my frst back up 2 weeks ago using microsoft back up and restore…

Now I’m trying to do another backup still using Microsofts back up and restore and it does not finish the back up…I don’t know what’s wrong…I have tried it over and over…still doesn’t finish…

Can anybody please tell me what’s wrong with my hard drive? or is it my computer or what…??..

Is there enough space on the drive? Which version of Windows are you using. I see people having mixed results with the built in MS backup.

Yes…I still have a lot of space available…700+ GB…

I’m using Windows 7…

It is probably a Windows problem check out some windows 7 forums like this one http://windows7forums.com/  some people have good luck with Windows backup others don’t. I use Acronis TI and image my partion with the system on it. I backup the data partition with sync software.

where do I find the sync software?

are there other free back up softwares except for acronis and windows?
