I want to know if there is a way to transform/convert the wd elements portable 2tb usb3 into a simple internal 2.5" sata hdd.

Probably if it has a standard SATA connector instead of a proproetary one.

It is not the same capacity but it has the exact same connection.
Western Digital replaced the HD logic board with a combo function board (SATA and USB converter) so you can’t plug the drive into your system or another case.
