I am extremely unhappy with Western Digital products. I paid a lot of money for a 3 TB external WD essentials drive and now I no longer have access to my data. My computer kept showing the drive come online and then go offline and when I updated my WD software, it suddenly is no longer recognized. I attached it to another computer and the same issue, no good. I will no longer entrust my data to any Western Digital product ever again. Countless years of memories, photos and videos to pay thousands of dollars to recover is a headache for a device that I paid a few hundred dollars for. I will never do this again. Thanks Western Digital for making inferior producs and ruining people’s lives.
Sorry to hear that you cannot access your files. Have you tried using another USB cable or connecting the power cable directly to the wall. From the disk management window you can see if the PC is recognizing the hard drive, if the hard drive is recognized, you can try using DLG to run a test. Check the links below for more information.
