Bad sectors for WD elements SE 1 Tb drive

Hello,

My brother purchased  Western Digital Elements SE 1TB Portable Hard Drive - Black of model WD BABV0010BBK from US around 2 years back and I am currently in India .

I have faced bad sector issue so i have formatted it and scanned using WD tool. But in long scan it shows" too many bad sectors" error.

After formatting it’s working fine ,but taking too much time for copying any data.

Can i do anything to it ?

I heard about RMA process of WD . Is it benificial for me?

Please suggest.

Thanks,

in this type of situations is better to rma the drive

you can go to wd’s web for that

Thanks for reply.

As i mentioned i am currently living in India, How should i proceed with RMA ?

Can you please give any link for reference/ steps to be followed ?

I have also heard that RMA will not support if your device is out of warranty . Is this true?

If out of warranty you will need to purchase a new one
