Backup from 1 WD Essential 2T to Another WD 2T Essential witn WD SmartWare

Hi,

I’ve Acquired 2 External drives and want to use one as external drive and the other as the Backup Drive.

SmarWare doesn’t accept this … Only Drive C: and other WD as Backup Drive !!!

Stupid thing … And now ?

Probably better is to return one to the vendor and by an IOMEGA …??? !!! Any Solution ?

You’re going to return a drive just because an optional, bundled software that comes with it doesn’t do what you want?

Why don’t you try another software? The drive works with any free software you can download.

I use my drive with Windows Backup as it comes with W7, you can also Try SyncToy just to mention 2 of the millions of free software you can use for that…

You get what you pay for.  Free bundled software is frequently limited in functions sometimes it’s to get you to buy the full version or it may be in development yet. You don’t have to use or install it. I used smartware once and uninstalled it. I use Acronis True Image and GoodSync.
