I have just bought a My Book Live and I want to back up certain folders for two different user accounts on a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop machine. Is it possible to do this in SmartWare without the users being able to see each others backed up files? I have tried creating users and private shares in the dashboard, but seem to be having trouble backing up to the private shares instead of the SmartWare share that everyone can see. I may be missing something obvious!

You should be able to create a private folder and the select it as the destination from the Smartware Home tab, what problems are you having? Check the link below so you can review the steps.

You’ll have to swap user accounts for that, Smartware won’t backup files from protected user account folders, and of course it won’t separate the files unless the settings are kept in a different account.
