Hi, I have just purchased a WD my passport external hard-drive but as my PC tries to install it, I am prompted to log on as an administrator, without which I cannot save any of my data. The PC I am trying to use it on is part of a network at work so I do not have access to admin login details. How can I get around this? Do I need to contact my IT department?
You probably need to contact the IT dept. There is also a super administrator account that most people don’t know about. There are a lot of places that permanent changes can be blocked. When you logged on as administrator did you give permission for your user account?
