Access delayed 2-3 sec

my WD My Passwort Essential SE with 1 TB has always a delayed access …

if I browse through folders, I double-click … 1, 2 … it opens

when I´m listening to music, double-click on a file … 1, 2 … it starts to play

if the song is over and the next song of the playlist starts, I hear it for 1, 2 seconds, then I´ve 1, 2 seconds delay and then it continues to play …

with movies it´s the same …

even when I browse pictures …

that´s quite annoying …

any suggestion what to do / change / test?!

I have the same problem as the user Drop-D

I had 320gb old one and never a problem, an excelent one!

I bought 1tb to have more space, I work with it, DJ and VJ in a Bar… and I have to stay using 320gb instead of new 1tb.

Always a delay between new playbacks, fastforwards or changing mp3 or videos. TOOOOO SLOWWW

NEED HELP ASAP!!!     or only solution…I will sell it to a friend and buy other brand to test

I have exactly the same problem as Drop-D.  If I haven’t accessed my WD Passport Essential SE in the last few seconds, my next access is delayed a couple seconds.  This is true on either write or read access.

I’ve been in touch with WD tech support on this issue. They suggested I make sure my drive has the latest firmware. To this end, I selected my drive and OS from http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/wdsmartwareupdate/ and downloaded the firmware installer. It upgraded my firmware from 2.011 to 2.019. This didn’t solve the problem, but it seemed to reduce the delay to about 1.7 seconds.
