Where I can find information about noise level of each drive. Which one is quieter?
Also I’m interested in which one is better for permanent active work with a lot of small and big files (samples for music production).
I had My Passport 2TB and it’s broke down after 1.5 year of average work with music samples. And it was so loud. Now I need new drive, maximum reliability and quiet. Please give good advice.
Hello DesMusic, information about noise level is not available. If you need a drive for work, I recommend a dual drive, check the links below for more information.

I was told the only major difference is the My Book features data encryption and smartware features, where as the Elements does not.
I have a 3TB My Book and a few 3TB Elements … Personally speaking, the Elements sound louder than the My Book
(i’m talking “Fan Noise” … the drives themselves are pretty quiet)
But the only thing that kinda freaks me out … if for whatever reason the My Book enclosure goes faulty, you can’t take the HDD out and connect it to your PC and retrieve your data … because the encryption / decryption is on the enclosure controller board.
AFAIK … if the same happens to the Elements, you can remove the HDD and retrieve your data
