Hi all.
Today I present a rather annoying problem which is my 2TB MyPassport “Overheating”.
It had been working fine for a full year until yesterday where WD Drive Utilities tell me that my external hard drive is “overheating” and needs to be disconnected unless I want it to get damaged.
After which the drive will automatically eject itself so that it protects itself from damage, which is reasonable.
However, my other devices that I connect to my mac seems to be fine on both ports of my Mac, showing no issues with the connection. Also tried using other USB 3.0 to Micro-B Cables but it seems to reject them if they are not straight from WD and would not mount at all to macOS.
Any help or advice would be appreciated as I’m super annoyed at this problem, thanks.
