1 TB passport quit functioning

My 1 tb passport has quit working. It spins up lights work. Shows up in the computer file as a local disk, but I can not access the disk at all. Tried several PCs and different cables from friends. It keeps displaying a message that the drive needs to be formatted before use , but I have had this drive for over a year and it was formatted when I installed it.

Any Ideas?

Also every scan or recovery program I tried to use will not run with the drive connected. This drive has not been dropped or handled in a rough manner (even though I have wanted to throw it a lot since this problem started)

Corrupted partition.

Use Recuva to recover the files and reformat

If you have a backup just format the drive
