Yikes-

I went to update the software for My Book Essential  to 1.5.018 and got a 1603 error code.  Tried several things, but it wouldn’t update.  So I tried to uninstall the old version and got a “fatal error” for my efforts.  What I have now is a wonderful external hard drive that is password protected and PC software that isn;t working. 

Classic example of me shooting myself in the foot.

And suggestions out there?  Or do I just to support and through myself on their mercy.
