Just going thru the list of things that don’t work right in Windows 10. I lost the app in the Startup folder so now I wonder if it is functioning (still backing up)? Do i need to open it and leave it minimized so it functions? Using ver 2.4.12.
Any news on when an update will be available for WIn 10?
Hi there, Is the Smartware working as a process on your computer? If so, that means that it should be backing up.
I am a bit more cautious and prefer to wait for the official Window 10 version. Any idea when WD Smartware will be Windows 10 ready?
yes, there is a background process running for WD Backup Engine and WD Drive Service. I’m guessing that it still runs as a result of registry settings but does not have a functioning app to run in the startup portion… I added the app to the startup folder but it opens as a program on bootup.
… 3 weeks and still no word on a program that works with the latest Windows OS to support milliions of their devices.
