I just bought a My Passport Ultra 1 TB drive and was opening a My Cloud account. My Cloud was asking for a 9 digit device code and I can’t seem to find it on the drive or accompanying literature/box/materials that came with the drive. Can anyone help? Thanks.
My Passport Ultra isn’t a network-aware drive.
I think you were wanting the My Passport Wireless (Pro).
Yes, but in order to gain an account with My Cloud, I am asked to provide
the 9 digit device code which is not apparent on the drive or in the
literature which accompanies the drive. I had folks at the Microsoft Store
from which I bought the drive try to help me, but they couldn’t find the 9
digit device code either! I have an email query with WD so I’m hopeful that
they can help.
You cannot use the My Passport Ultra with a My Cloud account. My Cloud accounts are used for accessing NASes. The Ultra is not a NAS.
