Where did 400 GB disappear to? Please help!

Hi!

So i have this WD hard drive - i’m sorry i don’t know what model it is, all i remember is that its fast and there’s fire wire or something because i needed it for my HD filming&editing class - but anyway its 1 TB however when i check its capacity by right clicking onto ‘Get Info’ it says that the capacity is only 931.19 GB. Why is that?

Also, it says that I’ve used 872.93 GB. But when i click on the only folder that’s there, it says that its size is only 447.45 GB on disk. So where is this 425.48 GB being used??

Check  this link to see why you might not get 1TB shown, you might have some hidden or corrupted files in the HDD. Try doing a backup of all the important files and then format it using disk utility.
