I have WB 2TB Mybook. It’s worked fine in the past, but I plugged it in a few days ago and NOTHING happened. No sound, no lights, NOTHING!
Anyone know what the problem might be? Can I fix it or have it fixed?

Make sure that the unit is properly connected to a wall outlet and to the back USB port of a desktop computer. Also you may try using a different USB cable and different power adapter.
Yep - tried all that. I have around half a dozen external hard drives and am familiar in using them. I tried using a different power adaptor and nothing. It’s as if there’s no power coming to the drive.
Did you overvolt it with the wrong power adapter?
If your warranty is not important, try removing the HDD from the enclosure and connecting it directly to a SATA port on your motherboard. Does BIOS detect it? Note that some My Books are encrypted, so you may not be able to see your data, in which case you will need to replace or repair your USB-SATA bridge board.
Hi, I used the AC power cord that came with it. And when nothing happened, I used a different cord and still nothing happened.
I don’t know how to do what you’re suggesting. It sounds complicated! :womansad:
