My Passport Portable USB drive 1 TB: Everything installed, I can see the drive using Explorer I can access installation software on drive and install but WD backup software can’t seem to find it’s own drive to do a backup with.

Uninstall WD Backup, then download and install the latest version:
Did that plus tried installing Smartware. I guess it’s not so smart after all.
