WD Smartware External Products

I wanted to find out more about the WD Smartware software.  I want to install it on my computers to see what the interface looks like. I am interested in using one of the WD external products (My Book, Essentials, etc…) along with Smartware to backup several computers. 

  1. Can someone tell me which WD external product comes with Smartware? 

  2. Because I don’t own a WD external product, where can I find a FULL version of Smartware?

WD SmartWare only comes with one of our products at the moment.  Here is a list of products that it comes with.

My Passport
My Book Essential
My Book for Mac
My Book Live
My Book
Live Duo

Keep in mind that you need to make sure that you have all the latest Windows updates, as well as .Net 4.0 installed.

Thanks for the response.   Where can I find the FULL version of Smartware?  I know I can download updates but I need the FULL version first before updates.

Where do I find a FULL version if I don’t have the CD or own a WD External Product?
