WD Passport 730 1T shows empty folder pls help

When I plug my WS Passport to my window xp sp3 for the first time I saw some folders e.g. fc3f6b205a4bdab448d962f64b I deleted a couple of them. Then after I unplug the drive and replug the PC couldn’t recognise map the drive any more even though the USB is found. I plug it into my Mac and again it couldn’t see any drive. After several attempts I finally could see the drive mapped on my PC as J: The folders are still there but they are empty. All the files are gone. Right hand click on properties still show 300G free. I tried dozens of data recovery tool but none works. Paragone Partition Manager shows Total size 0. Pls help. 1. Western Digital Data Lifeguard - can see logical drive but not the physical drive so I couldn’t run the test 2. DDR Professional - cannot do raw search “End Sector should be greater than start sector” probably because Start & End sector are showing zeros. 3. Recover data for NTFS not work. - Disk Size : 0 - Cannot select partition 4. Stellar Phoenix Professional - Not work - not search anything. 0 bad sector. 5. Minitool Data Recovery - When press recover - “Please insert a disc, and then click fresh list button” 6. TestDisk and photorec cannot see the drive. Pls help as all my photos are in there!!!

How about take a try Data Recovery for Windows ( http://www.datarescuetools.com/data-recovery.html ), Take the trial version first, it’s free. Use the function “Raw Recovery” and See?

Remember – Do NOT try & write anything back untill you retrieve your folder files safely!

Maybe the folders you deleted were system files needed to show contents of folders.
