Hey!
So, I backed up my old Macbook onto my WD MyPassport external HD and now, when I connect it to my new Macbook Pro, it doesn’t show in Finder or Disk Utility. Devices were always safely removed.
When I plug it in, the drive wakes up, makes its normal noise, but doesn’t show up on my computer.
Any ideas? Definitely wasn’t physical damage or a bad usb cable, because the drive knows I’ve plugged it in.
Thanks in advance!
Hello turdburglar, if possible try using another USB cable, try connecting the Passport USB cable directly to the Mac, extension USB cables or USB hubs can cause power inconsistencies.
I woke up this morning to the same problem. I don’t know what to do. My whole life is on there
I have had mine for over a year and I can NEVER get it to work… It is sooo frustrating. I can’t connect to it. It is full of back ups from two computers but it refuses to let me access the data. It won’t allow updates because it is full… I hate this hard drive
