When I backed up my files on the old Lenovo Win 10 I did not use or have WD Smartware. Since I did do the backup the older Lenovo is gone. I purchased a Dell desktop with Microsoft edge and also has Windows 10.
I have not been able to retrieve my files from the back up There are some files but when I click on the file it is empty? The backup says that there is 780,000 files but again cannot see them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a folder on the Passport called either WD Smartware.swstor or WD Backup.swstor?
If so open it and continue opening folders until you get to one with History and Volume folders. Your files should be in the Volume Folder. There may be similar files in the History folder, but the names will be modified and empty or nearly so.
If you did not use WD Smartware or WD Backup on the Lenovo, did you use drag and drop through Windows? Those files should be ok, but how did you move them to the Dell desktop?

Thank you Cliff, Per your instructions we found the files. We had the files backed up to the Lenovo using the WD My passport Ultra.
