WD My Passport Ultra 2TB strange sound, not recognised

As soon as I plug my external hdd in a usb port, it makes a sound similar to the one in the video mentioned below for ~90 seconds.

Afterwards it stops making it, and gets recognised as a CD drive on my computer. Weird thing is, that it shows up fine alongside my hard disk on device management:

Results of the DLGDIAG test:

Serial number matches the one on the HDD. Only problem being capacity not showing up, since it’s not recognisable, and impossible for me to test it.

Tested in all 3 USB ports of my laptop (1x 3.0, 2x 2.0)

Also showed an “error performing inpage operation” before it wasn’t recognised at all, and the drive seemed to be recognisable, since I could see the WD Unlocker image, but apparently I couldn’t unlock it. It actually took me a while till I saw this message. Also showed me an I/O device error at times.

Hi,

Did you try connecting the drive with a different USB cable and to a different computer?

Yes. The only significant change to its behaviour was that when i plugged it in to my USB 2.0 port, the beeping was shorter, but the device wasn’t recognised.

There was something else I found out while connecting the drive to another computer. Any ideas?

Another thing I noticed was a slight move on the right at the end of each beeping sequence.
