WD My book for Mac and Sony TV

I have a new My book for my sony TV which holds movie files, (I have used and old my book with no problems) when i see the files in finder on teh mac book pro there is a single file for wach movie, however when I use the drive through the tv there is a duplicate file. One plays one doesn’t.  its not a major problem but the files that don’t play are listed first so you have to scroll through all those before the MPEG or AVI files that play. 

Can anyone help with this?.

Were you using the drive as a backup drive for time machine?

It could be that your TV is reading the compress files from the backup.

No the drive was fresh out of the box, it has been formated to FAT32 as the TV needs this to see it. 

The duplicate files are the movie files, its just one doesn’t work.  Kinda looks like a shadow.
