PLEASE HELP! I accidentally used the wrong power supply with my usb hub and the 2 external drives plugged into the hub no longer work. I took both drives out of the enclosures to plug in directly. The Seagate drive works fine but the WD drive from the My Book enclosure will not initiate in Windows. The computer sees the drive and tests confirm the drive is in good condition but nothing I do will retrieve the data from the drive. It appears the data is encrypted and once the enclosure is removed, it looks near impossible to get anything off it. Won’t be buying this type of drive again. Any ideas???

This is a very delicate situation and I’d recommend contacting a specialized data recovery service. Swapping enclosures and controllers can further damage the data.
