WD hard drive disappear after seconds

Hi Guys, I would appreciate any help here.
I have two WD hard drives, always treated them gently and all of the sudden, both of them have the same issue. After I connect the USB, the drive appears and I can see all the content is there, but after a few seconds the drive disappears and I don’t see it anymore. If I reconnect, the same thing happens again.
I am using Dell Latitude 7240 with Win7, 64 bit.
In device manager, I see both drives, they even appear in the WD discovery app. (seemingly without problem, driver update or reinstalling did not change anything).
