WD Essential not recognized OSX 10.7.5

I bought this drive a couple years ago and used it to back up all of my music in the summer of 2012.  I have done a couple back ups since then, but really haven’t used it much.  A month ago I wanted to do another back up (it’s about time) and my MacBook no longer recognizes the drive.  I tried to look it up in Disk Utility, but it’s not showing there at all.

Hello,

Please try some basic troubleshooting steps.

1- Connect the power adapter to the wall directly.

2- If the computer is a desktop, connect it on the back USB port (directly to the PC, not through a hub).

3- Go to "Disk Utility” to verify if the drive shows up there.

If the drive shows up in Disk Utility but it is not seen on Computer, then it means the partition is corrupted and you will have to format it in order to use it again. Please note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored on it.

As I said, the drive is not showing up at all on the desktop.

In Dsc Utility, I can only find it if I go into  Capabilities : Open System Information, then to USB.  From there I get this:

Hello, I have the same problem too.

The format of the disk is fat32. Mac lion os can’t open in windows 8.1 it’s ok.

I made a research for about 2 days and nothing can’t find except for this code (Mac OS X: Mounting FAT32 external hard drive via Terminal command line sudo mkdir /Volumes/EXT_HD, sudo mount -t msdos /dev/disk1s1 /Volumes/EXT_HD/) for terminal that has the opportunity to unlock the disk for lion. With this solution i must put this code to terminal every time my macbook reboot or startup. That’s a big problem and i’m finally very dissapointed. Is there a real solution outside for mount to mac lion environment my book essential 3tb usb 3.0?
