WD Easystore and computer image

I just bought a WD Easystore.
I used to backup files and create an image using Windows 7 Backup on a WD My Passport Ultra.
I just read the instructions for WD Easystore external drive and there was nothing about creating a system image. Can I do that with WD Easystore?
Can I download Acronis True Image WD Edition and use it on WD Easystore?
Thank you.

Yes, you can use Windows 7 backup or Acronis True Image to backup your system image to the drive.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have been on the phone with techs at Windows 10, HP and finally a paid HP service called SmartFriend trying to get my HP Envy 5540 printer to work on my new HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-0050. The printer is only three and a half years old and is compatible. It has taken many hours over about three weeks. I think these many techs have been on my computer remotely more than me. But finally it is working and has been for three days so perhaps it is stable now.
Today I hope to buy and install Microsoft Office 2019. (I do not want my stuff in the cloud; I want it in my house.)
If this goes smoothly I will want to do a back up of files and folders and an image when everything is finally installed and set up.
I wondered why so many people recommended third party backup programs. I think you are suggesting the built in Windows backup is fine.
I did have one problem with Windows backup. I had given SR 20% of the drive but too much was saved on the computer. I thought the back up files and image went to the Passport. I never realized anything was on the internal drive. I really don’t know what happened but on the first day of January the back up failed and could not create an image. And that is when system restore listed many months of backups. That had not shown before. Actually I don’t know what happened, but I was already shopping for a Windows 10 computer so I guessed it didn’t matter.
