I used WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows to do a Extended Test on a 3TB western digital green drive, it came up as PASS.

But when I use CrystalDiskInfo it shows the hard drive health status as Caution because of Reallocated Sectors Count, Current Pending Sector Count, Uncorrectable Sector Count.

Does WD Data Life Guard check these and is this hard drive still okay to be use?

Hi,

The EXTENDED TEST performs a Full Media Scan to detect bad sectors and attempt to repair them or mark the damaged sector for not to be written to.

Yet when I put the drive into a synology nas I’m told that the drive has failed and cannot be used.
