Was I sold a used product?

Hi!

I bought a WD Elements Potable 3TB drive on Amazon and when I registered it, I realised that the warranty had already been running for over a month. There was also no file on the drive like a ‘readme’ or a user manual, which I find very odd.

I tried contacting the WD support for my country (Belgium) to make sure this wasn’t normal, but the phone number doesn’t seem to be working.

I could of course send it back, but I’d like to make sure that it is indeed a used product first.
What do you advise me to do?

Usually I send email opening a case attaching the bill to show the purchasing date
and WD normally update the purchasing date so to have the real warranty time.
