I bought a wd MY PASSPORT ULTRA from amazon. I am trying to register it. The status states OUT OF REGION. I am clueless about this. How should i solve this?
It means the hard drive was imported from a different region/country that does not correspond to the supply revision for your region. For example, a WD Passport with a regional code for Europe will be out of region in the United States.
WD Support is able to manually update your unit’s warranty. However, you will need to provide a purchase receipt/invoice.
Hi, Thanks for the reply! As you said, I did tried to contact the WD assist Singapore. They said the warranty is invalid and they can’t change it for me and that warranty is only applicable in US. Instead they told me its better if i buy from my region. I tried explaining to them. but to no avail. I am seeking refund from the retailer i bought!
