Very slow transfer

I have just bought a 1,5 TB external disk drive (WDBAAU0015HBK) and started transfer my video. After 10 hours only 20 GB have been transferred. This is very slow and I am very disappointed. Is this normal ? Is there a solution to speed up the transfer. Merci Marc PS: I use an Imac with MacOS 10.6.4

Have You format the HD for Your Mac Already ? This Drive Comes Preformatted for NTFS ( Windows ) If Not Please Use the Link Below :

In Case it Is already Formatted, Then Go ahead and format the HD once More just to make Sure that everything is Working fine… However Remenber you’ll get 2.0 Transfer Speed.

Correct formatting was done. I improve the transfer connecting directly to teh Mac USB port instead of a 4-port USB hub. Seems more acceptavle this way. Thanks Marc
