Used Acronis recommend clone option and it duplicated same size

I was moving from a WD250GB to WD1TB and used Acronis recommended clone option. Well I cloned the drive exactly the same size as the old drive. Lost the new space. I re-cloned this time manual and same results, still showing WD250GB size. How can I re-clone and get the full size of the drive.

Are you using Windows 10? If so, you can extend the original partition in Disk Management.

Yes I am on Windows 10. I did open Disk Management to expand the volume but it is grayed out. I see may people are running into the same problem.There were no additional partitions on the original drive. When I used Acronis manually it would not readjust the partitions. A message came up that the clone would be “As is”.
