the internet says USB pen drive can keep data on it for 10 to 100 years, but then the internet says SSD’s are better but only hold “non powered on data” for 3 to 5 years
QUESTION is how long do usb pen drives, hold data in a non powered way, just sitting on the shelf.

You should check the drive(s) where the data is saved about every 6 months or so.
Open few files to make sure they are still accessible and intact.
